Statistics: Nirav Tolia Invested $300k on Shark Tank

Nirav Tolia was not really looking for another Nextdoor when he came to Shark Tank. One of the businesses he picked made soap that kids could draw with, and another sold skincare inspired by African ingredients and traditions. HelloPrenup was different. This was an online business using technology to make prenuptial agreements easier, so Nirav had spent a lot more time around this kind of business.

And all three deals happened pretty quickly. Nirav appeared in only two Season 13 episodes, with SoaPen and 54 Thrones coming during the first one. Two weeks later, HelloPrenup became his third deal.

The three also put $300,000 on Nirav’s side of the Shark Tank agreements. SoaPen was $100,000 and Nirav was doing that one alone. Kevin O’Leary joined him for the other two, with Nirav putting $125,000 into the 54 Thrones agreement and another $75,000 into HelloPrenup.

HelloPrenup is the easier one to follow after Shark Tank. Nirav and Kevin actually became investors in the company, and HelloPrenup still lists both of them as investors and advisors.

The other two didn’t end up the same way. 54 Thrones kept going, but its deal with Nirav and Kevin never closed. SoaPen continued selling its products too, although there isn’t enough public evidence showing that Nirav’s $100,000 deal was actually completed.

Nirav Tolia Shark Tank Investment Summary

nirav tolia shark tank
CompanyAccepted Shark Tank DealNirav’s Amount
SoaPen$100,000 for 10% + $1 royalty until $200,000$100,000
54 Thrones$250,000 for 17.5% with Kevin O’Leary$125,000
HelloPrenup$150,000 for 30% with Kevin O’Leary$75,000
Total$300,000

SoaPen was the simplest one to count because Nirav was the only Shark in the deal. The $100,000 was all coming from him. There was also a $1 royalty on every unit until Nirav received $200,000, but that royalty was not another $200,000 he was putting into the company.

54 Thrones had Kevin O’Leary beside him. Nirav agreed to put up half of the $250,000, so $125,000 belongs on his side. Then HelloPrenup gave him another $75,000 from the $150,000 deal with Kevin.

That gets Nirav to the $300,000 from his three Shark Tank agreements. But only HelloPrenup gives us clear evidence that Nirav actually became an investor after the show. 54 Thrones never closed, and there isn’t enough public information showing that the original SoaPen investment was completed.

Nirav Tolia Agreed to $125,000 for 54 Thrones

Christina Funke Tegbe had already taken 54 Thrones quite a long way before Shark Tank. The skincare brand was inspired by African ingredients and traditions, and Christina had left her consulting career to build it. By 2021, 54 Thrones had also made its way into places like Nordstrom, Goop and Sephora’s website.

She came to the Sharks asking for $250,000 for 10% of the company. Nirav was interested, and his wife had experience in skincare too. But Nirav wanted another Shark to come into the deal with him, and Kevin O’Leary joined.

The two offered Christina $250,000 for 17.5%. Kevin would get 10% of the company and Nirav would get 7.5%, while Nirav was putting up half of the money. That made $125,000 Nirav’s part of the 54 Thrones agreement.

Christina accepted their offer, but the deal did not make it through after Shark Tank. 54 Thrones kept going anyway. The company continued selling its skincare products, just without Nirav and Kevin’s Shark Tank investment.

Nirav Tolia Invested $100,000 in SoaPen

Amanat Anand and Shubham Issar wanted kids to spend more time washing their hands. Telling them to do it is one thing, but SoaPen gave them something to draw with while they were there. The soap came out of a pen, kids could draw on their hands, and then they had to wash the drawing away.

The two had met while studying industrial design at Parsons, and the idea came from a UNICEF challenge. By Shark Tank, SoaPen had already made $85,000 in lifetime sales. Their first 5,000 units had sold out in three weeks after the product appeared in Real Simple.

Amanat and Shubham were asking for $100,000 for 10%. Nirav actually went out at first because he thought they were still too early. But after the founders left, he changed his mind and called them back.

Nirav offered the $100,000 for 10% and wanted another $1 from every SoaPen sold until he had received $200,000. Amanat and Shubham took the offer. SoaPen kept going after Shark Tank and later raised another $150,000 from MassChallenge, although Nirav’s original investment is not publicly confirmed.

Nirav Tolia Put $75,000 Into HelloPrenup

Getting a prenup can take a lot of time and money. Julia Rodgers knew that pretty well because she was already working as a family-law attorney. She started HelloPrenup to put the process online, and software engineer Sarabeth Jaffe later joined her. The two wanted couples to be able to get through a prenup in hours instead of waiting months.

Julia and Sarabeth came into Shark Tank asking for $150,000 for 10%. Nirav offered the money for 30%, and the founders tried to get him down to 20%. He moved to 25%, but then Kevin O’Leary wanted to come into the deal too.

Nirav and Kevin ended up offering $150,000 for 30%, with each Shark getting 15%. The founders accepted, so Nirav’s part of the investment was $75,000. This was his smallest Shark Tank deal.

And this deal actually went through after Shark Tank. Nirav and Kevin became investors in HelloPrenup, and the company still lists both of them as investors and advisors. The business kept growing too. By 2024, HelloPrenup reported $3 million in lifetime sales and a $22 million valuation.

What Happened to Nirav Tolia’s Shark Tank Companies?

All three of Nirav’s Shark Tank companies kept going after their episodes. But keeping the business going did not mean the Shark deal went along with it. That is what happened with 54 Thrones.

The 54 Thrones deal never went through after Shark Tank. Christina Funke Tegbe kept building the company anyway. SoaPen kept going as well, and Amanat and Shubham later received $150,000 from MassChallenge. But we still don’t know if Nirav ever put his original $100,000 into SoaPen.

HelloPrenup had Nirav with it after Shark Tank. The deal closed, and Nirav and Kevin continued as investors and advisors in the company. By 2024, HelloPrenup was reporting $3 million in lifetime sales and a $22 million valuation.

All three businesses were still going after Shark Tank. Nirav just wasn’t there with all three of them. HelloPrenup was different because that deal actually closed, and Nirav remained an investor in the company.

Nirav Tolia’s Current Status

Shark Tank was only a short stop for Nirav Tolia. He made his three deals during Season 13 and didn’t come back later to add more businesses. Most of his work was still happening away from the Tank.

Nextdoor is a big part of that. Nirav had stepped away from running the company years earlier, but he returned as CEO in 2024. He is still listed as Nextdoor’s CEO, President, chairperson and co-founder.

And Nextdoor is still a pretty large business. In the second quarter of 2026, the company reported $75 million in revenue and 22.9 million weekly active users on the platform. Nirav called it the strongest financial quarter in the company’s history.

There isn’t a reliable number for Nirav’s current net worth though. Plenty of estimates are available online, but there isn’t enough behind them to call one of those numbers his actual fortune. His Shark Tank investments are much easier to count than everything Nirav owns outside the show.

Final Words

Three deals is not a lot for a Shark, especially when Nirav made all of them during the same season. But he did find three companies that had very little in common with each other. There was children’s soap, African-inspired skincare and an online service for prenups.

Nirav also didn’t stay with what he already knew from Nextdoor. SoaPen and 54 Thrones were both physical products, and he still wanted to invest in them. HelloPrenup was much closer to his technology background, and that is the business where Nirav actually remained an investor after Shark Tank.

His time on the show was over pretty quickly after that. Nirav returned to the technology world and eventually went back to running Nextdoor as CEO. Shark Tank only became a small part of a business career that had already been going for years before he entered the Tank.
