Statistics: Tony Xu Invested $875k on Shark Tank

Tony only had four businesses come in front of him during his Shark Tank episode. He wanted three of them. Kinfield, wildwonder and Cabinet Health all ended up with a deal involving Tony.

And Tony had started DoorDash from a much smaller place too. He and his co-founders talked to local businesses and found out that delivery was a problem for plenty of them. When DoorDash got started in 2013, they were even making some of the deliveries themselves.

Tony didn’t invest the same way with all three Shark Tank companies. He took wildwonder by himself for $500,000, while Barbara Corcoran joined him on Kinfield and Kevin O’Leary joined him on Cabinet Health. Counting half of those two shared deals puts another $125,000 and $250,000 on Tony’s side.

That gives Tony about $875,000 from his three accepted deals. And he managed to get there during just one Shark Tank episode. Only Metric Mate left his episode without Tony being part of its deal.

Tony Xu Shark Tank Investment Summary

Current image: tony xu shark tank
CompanyAccepted Shark Tank DealTony’s Attributed Amount
Kinfield$250,000 for 10% with Barbara Corcoran$125,000
wildwonder$500,000 for 6% + 3% advisory shares$500,000
Cabinet Health$500,000 for 7% with Kevin O’Leary + 2% royalty$250,000
Total$1.25 million in complete deals$875,000

Wildwonder puts the most money on Tony’s side. Rosa Li took $500,000 from Tony alone, so there isn’t another Shark to split that deal with. That one company gives Tony more than half of his complete Shark Tank amount.

Tony wasn’t alone on the Kinfield deal. Nichole Powell asked Tony and Barbara Corcoran to invest together, and the two Sharks agreed to $250,000 for 10%. If they were putting in the same amount, Tony gets $125,000 of that deal. Then Cabinet Health gave him another deal to share, this time with Kevin.

Tony and Kevin agreed to put $500,000 into Cabinet for 7%, along with a royalty. Splitting the investment in half adds $250,000 for Tony. The royalty was money coming back to the Sharks, so it doesn’t add anything to what Tony was putting in.

Put all three deals together and Tony gets about $875,000. But we have to split the Kinfield money with Barbara and the Cabinet money with Kevin to get there. Nobody said exactly how much each Shark was putting into those two deals. And Cabinet still has another problem because we don’t know if that agreement ever actually closed.

Tony Xu Invested About $125,000 in Kinfield

Nichole Powell started Kinfield with products made for people spending time outside. There was sunscreen, but one of the products getting attention was a DEET-free insect repellent. Nichole came into Shark Tank asking for $250,000 for 5% of the company.

And there were several Sharks who wanted Kinfield. Some of the offers came with royalties, but Tony offered $250,000 for 10% without one. Nichole liked Tony, but she also wanted Barbara involved.

So Nichole asked the two Sharks if they would do the deal together. Tony and Barbara agreed to $250,000 for 10%, and Nichole took it. If the two Sharks split the money equally, that puts $125,000 on Tony’s side.

Kinfield had a few more years ahead of it after Shark Tank. The deal with Tony and Barbara was reported as closing, and Nichole kept building the business. But in March 2026, she finally shut Kinfield down because she couldn’t find a way to keep the company going.

That doesn’t tell us what happened to Tony’s money though. Kinfield had years of business after he made the deal, but we don’t know what Tony got back along the way. So there isn’t a number we can use for what he made or lost on Kinfield.

Tony Xu Invested $500,000 in wildwonder

Rosa Li grew up drinking the herbal tonics her grandmother made for her in China. Years later, that became part of the idea behind wildwonder. Rosa was making sparkling drinks with ingredients including prebiotics and probiotics.

She came into Shark Tank asking for $500,000 for 5% of the company. Tony liked wildwonder, but he wanted more of it and offered the same $500,000 for 9%. Rosa had already raised money for the business, so she didn’t want to bring the valuation down that far.

Rosa didn’t take Tony’s first offer, so they kept working on the numbers. They eventually got to $500,000 for 6%, with Tony getting another 3% in advisory shares. Rosa said yes, and this time Tony had the deal all to himself.

Tony didn’t have to share the $500,000 with another Shark this time. It was all his investment. And wildwonder kept getting bigger after Shark Tank, with the drinks making their way into thousands of stores. Tony was still there as an investor too.

That makes wildwonder different from the other two companies in Tony’s Shark Tank portfolio. There isn’t a shared amount to estimate, and the business is still active. What we don’t have is a public number showing what Tony’s investment is worth today.

Tony Xu Invested About $250,000 in Cabinet Health

Achal Patel and Russell Gong were looking at all the plastic that comes with medicine. Cabinet Health used reusable containers instead, with medicine coming in refills rather than another plastic bottle every time. And this was already a pretty big business when they came to Shark Tank.

Achal and Russell were asking for $500,000 for 2.5%. They expected Cabinet to make around $14 million in sales in 2022. Tony wanted the company, and Kevin O’Leary was interested too.

The founders eventually wanted both Sharks in the deal. Tony and Kevin agreed to $500,000 for 7%, along with a 2% royalty until they had received $1 million back. If they split the $500,000 equally, that puts $250,000 on Tony’s side.

The royalty doesn’t add another amount to Tony’s investment. It was money that would come back to Tony and Kevin from the business. But there is another problem with counting Cabinet as money Tony actually invested.

Russell said shortly after Shark Tank that the deal had not been finalized yet. Cabinet kept going and later expanded into hundreds of CVS stores, but that doesn’t prove the Shark agreement eventually closed. So we can count $250,000 for Tony’s accepted deal, but we still don’t know if he actually put that money into Cabinet.

How Much Did Tony Xu Invest on Shark Tank?

There was $1.25 million going into the three deals Tony made on Shark Tank. But Tony wasn’t the only Shark putting up that money. Barbara was with him on Kinfield, and Kevin joined him for Cabinet Health.

Wildwonder gives Tony the biggest piece of the money. That $500,000 was his deal alone. Then we can give him $125,000 from Kinfield by splitting the money with Barbara, and another $250,000 by doing the same thing with Kevin on Cabinet.

That takes Tony to about $875,000. But we don’t know if the money in those two shared deals was really divided right down the middle. So the $875,000 is the amount we can count for Tony from the three deals he made in the Tank.

And Cabinet makes the actual amount even harder to know. Russell said the deal with Tony and Kevin still hadn’t been finalized shortly after Shark Tank, and we don’t have stronger evidence showing that it later closed. So we can’t say that Tony actually put the complete $875,000 into his Shark Tank companies.

What Happened to Tony Xu’s Shark Tank Companies?

Kinfield is the one Tony can’t go back to anymore. The deal with Tony and Barbara was reported as closing, and Nichole kept the company running for several years after Shark Tank. Then in March 2026, she shut Kinfield down because she couldn’t find a way to keep the business going.

Wildwonder had a lot more room to grow after Tony made his deal. Rosa got the drinks into thousands of stores, and Tony continued being named as an investor in the company. Wildwonder is still selling its drinks today.

Cabinet Health was still doing business after Shark Tank. The company got its products into hundreds of CVS stores, and later there was more happening with sustainable packaging for other healthcare companies. But there is still one thing we don’t know. Tony and Kevin’s Shark Tank deal was never publicly confirmed as closed.

And none of these companies has given Tony a public exit we can put a number on. Kinfield shutting down doesn’t tell us exactly what Tony lost, just as wildwonder growing doesn’t tell us what he has made. We still don’t know Tony’s return from any of the three.

Tony Xu Built DoorDash Before Shark Tank

Tony had seen the restaurant business from pretty close when he was growing up. His family moved to the United States from China when he was a child, and his mother worked in a restaurant. Tony spent time working there too.

Then years later, Tony and his co-founders at Stanford started talking to local businesses about the problems they had. Delivery kept coming up with restaurants. That helped lead to DoorDash in 2013.

DoorDash was much smaller when Tony and the other founders started it. They were even making some of the deliveries themselves. And DoorDash didn’t stop with restaurant deliveries. People could eventually use it for groceries, convenience items and plenty of other things too. By 2025, the company had $13.7 billion in revenue and handled 3.2 billion orders.

DoorDash also made $935 million in GAAP net income attributable to common stockholders that year. And Tony was still there as CEO. More than a decade had passed since he and the other founders were making those early deliveries themselves.

Tony Xu’s Current Status

Tony is still the CEO of DoorDash, so the company he started in 2013 is still his job more than a decade later. He is also the chair of the company. DoorDash has changed quite a bit since Tony and the other founders were making deliveries themselves, but Tony never moved away from running it.

And he still has a lot of control there. Tony and his co-founders had 54% of DoorDash’s voting power in June 2026. An agreement also lets Tony direct the voting of the Class B shares held by the other founders.

DoorDash isn’t the only big technology company Tony is involved with. He has been on Meta’s board since 2022. Most of Tony’s money still comes back to DoorDash. Forbes estimated his net worth at around $1.8 billion in September 2026 and said he owned about 4.6% of the company, along with options. But the value of DoorDash shares keeps changing. So Tony’s $1.8 billion net worth is an estimate too.

Final Words

Tony came into Shark Tank for one episode and almost ended up with every company there. He made deals with Kinfield, wildwonder and Cabinet Health. Metric Mate was the only business from the episode that didn’t end up with Tony involved.

And the three companies gave him very different results after Shark Tank. Wildwonder kept growing and Tony is still connected with the business, while Kinfield eventually shut down in March 2026. Cabinet Health kept going too, although we still don’t know if Tony and Kevin’s deal ever actually closed.

Tony gets about $875,000 when we count his part of all three deals. But Kinfield and Cabinet both had another Shark putting money in, and we don’t know exactly how those amounts were divided. Then there is still the question of whether the Cabinet deal ever went through. So Tony’s actual amount could be different from the $875,000 we can count from the Tank.

And Tony had something much bigger waiting outside Shark Tank. DoorDash was still his company to run. By 2025, the business that Tony and his co-founders had once been making deliveries for themselves was bringing in $13.7 billion in revenue.
