Kendra Scott started her jewelry company with only $500. She would take her jewelry around to boutiques herself and try to get stores to sell it. That little business eventually became a billion-dollar company, and years later Kendra ended up sitting on the other side of the table, deciding which entrepreneurs she wanted to invest in.
Kendra started pretty quickly on Shark Tank. She made four deals in Season 12. After that, there was just Create A Castle in Season 14 and Yardsale in Season 16. So, before Season 17 started, Kendra had only six deals.
Season 17 added eight more. That was more deals in one season than Kendra had made during all her earlier appearances put together. It took her complete record to 14 accepted deals, with Kendra’s share of the money coming to $2.72 million.
Some of Kendra’s deals had other Sharks beside her. That happened quite a bit in Season 17, including one deal with four Sharks putting up the money together. So, only Kendra’s part belongs in her total. Byoot Company needs to be treated differently because her $50,000 was actually a loan, with Kendra getting 5% equity as part of the agreement.
Some of Kendra’s deals stopped being deals after Shark Tank. Sienna Sauce is one of them. Kendra had agreed to put $100,000 into the company for 20%, but Tyla-Simone Crayton never got that money. Yardsale did get through everything after filming, and Kendra’s deal with the company closed.
Doublesoul gives us another deal that went further than the agreement viewers saw. Kendra was later listed as an investor in the company. So, with Yardsale and Doublesoul, there is much more than the handshake in the Tank to show that Kendra really became involved.
That makes the $2.72 million a little different from the amount Kendra really invested. We can get to that number from the 14 deals she agreed to on Shark Tank through Season 17. But some went through, some did not, and there are still others where we simply do not know enough about what happened afterward. There isn’t one confirmed number for how much of that $2.72 million Kendra actually put into the businesses.
How Much Did Kendra Scott Invest on Shark Tank?

Kendra put $750,000 on the table during her first season as a Shark. Four businesses got her there. BootayBag took $500,000 of it, Sienna Sauce and OpulenceMD Beauty were another $100,000 each, and Byoot Company had the remaining $50,000 as a loan. Kendra was doing all four without another Shark.
Then the money slowed down for a while. Create A Castle was her only deal in Season 14, with Kendra agreeing to $350,000 for 20%. Season 16 only had Yardsale, another $250,000 from Kendra, although this deal also had a $5 royalty on every unit until she received $300,000.
Season 17 was very different because Kendra suddenly had eight companies. Doublesoul alone was another $500,000, and she also had Cabana Boys Events and Sleepy Baby without another Shark. But five of the deals now had other Sharks putting up money with her, including Daymond John on Crowd Compass and Kevin O’Leary as one of four Sharks on 9 Strap Technology.
The money gets a little harder to divide when Kendra has another Shark with her. Left Field, Crowd Compass and Glimmer Wish each had two Sharks, while 9 Strap had four. The Sharks never said exactly how much each of them was putting into those deals. So, the only way to count Kendra’s part is to split the money equally between the Sharks. That is the split used to get her complete $2.72 million. Alchemize Fightwear has better support for its three-way split, leaving $100,000 on Kendra’s side.
Kendra Scott Invested $500,000 in BootayBag
BootayBag was already a pretty big business by the time Elly Gheno walked into Shark Tank. Customers signed up to have new underwear sent to them, and the company had already made around $15 million in lifetime sales. That was a lot of underwear. Elly was now looking for $500,000 and was willing to give up 5% of the company.
Kendra liked BootayBag, but she wanted twice as much of the company. She offered Elly the full $500,000 for 10%, and Elly accepted. There was no other Shark in the deal, so all $500,000 was coming from Kendra.
And this one did go further than what happened in the Tank. Business reporting after the show talked about BootayBag making changes with Kendra’s investment, including making its own underwear. BootayBag kept going for several more years after Shark Tank. But by the end of 2024, customers were no longer getting their orders. The website disappeared too, and BootayBag was gone by December 2024.
Kendra Scott Invested $250,000 in Yardsale
Kelly McGee and Cristina Ashbaugh had made ski poles a little more interesting with Yardsale. Their poles could be customized, and they had magnetic features that made them easier to keep together. The two came to Shark Tank looking for $200,000 for 10%. Kendra ended up liking the business enough to offer more money than they had asked for.
Her deal was $250,000 for 10% of Yardsale, but there was something else attached to it. Kendra would also get $5 from every unit sold until she had received $300,000. The $5 royalty was not more money Kendra was putting into Yardsale. It worked the other way around. Yardsale would pay her $5 for every unit it sold until Kendra had received $300,000.
This deal also made it through after Shark Tank. Kendra became an investor in Yardsale and kept working with Kelly and Cristina. She had spent years getting her own products into stores, and retail was one of the things she could now help Yardsale with.
Kendra Scott Invested $500,000 in Doublesoul
Doublesoul had started with Ben Rosenbaum, Pete Davidson and Allison Strumeyer testing out a sock business. By 2024, it was doing $2.3 million in sales. And the founders thought there was still plenty more they could do with it. They came to Shark Tank wanting $500,000 for 4%.
Kendra had started out making jewelry, and there was nothing new about jewelry either. What she did was get people interested in her jewelry and build a much bigger business around it. Doublesoul was doing its own version of that with socks. Kendra offered Ben and Pete $500,000 for 10%, and they accepted.
There was no second Shark sharing this deal with Kendra. So, Doublesoul gives her another complete $500,000 agreement, the same amount she had agreed to put into BootayBag years earlier. Kendra was later identified as an investor in Doublesoul too. The company then brought in more money in 2026 when Poppi co-founder Allison Ellsworth made a six-figure investment.
Kendra Scott Invested $100,000 in Alchemize Fightwear
Alchemize Fightwear was already selling clothing to women who did combat sports. Maya Nazareth had taken the business to around $1.8 million in lifetime sales, and now she wanted $250,000 for 5%. But there were three Sharks who ended up wanting to do this with her. Kendra, Lori Greiner and Alexis Ohanian came together on the deal.
Maya did have to give up more of Alchemize than she originally planned. The three offered $300,000 for 15%, and she accepted. This was $50,000 more money than Maya had asked for, with the three Sharks sharing the investment.
Kendra’s part of the investment comes to $100,000. And this one did continue after Shark Tank. Alchemize later announced Kendra, Lori and Alexis as its investors, so the three Sharks were still part of the business after filming.
Kendra Scott Invested $100,000 in Left Field
Left Field had only been around for a few months when Samantha Martin and Kate Sieler brought it to Shark Tank. About 5,000 people were already using the dating app. Samantha and Kate were trying to get away from all the swiping that comes with other dating apps. They were looking for $200,000 for 5%.
Alexis Ohanian had spent years around technology businesses, while Kendra had built a consumer brand of her own. So, the two Sharks had pretty different experience to bring to Left Field. They offered Samantha and Kate $200,000 for 8%, plus another 4% in advisory shares, and the founders took it. But Kendra and Alexis never said exactly how much of the $200,000 each of them was putting in.
We count half of the $200,000 for Kendra, which gives her $100,000 from Left Field. But there is something we know without having to assume a split. And Kendra did stay with Left Field after Shark Tank. She was later named as an angel investor in the company, while Alexis put his money in through 776. Left Field kept growing too and started taking the app into more cities.
Kendra Scott Invested $200,000 in 9 Strap Technology
Ryan and Alyson Vaughn had built 9 Strap around something Ryan knew from baseball. The training device kept an athlete’s hands connected during a swing, and the business had already made around $1.3 million in sales in about a year. Ryan and Alyson were asking for $360,000 for 9%. But this ended up becoming a much bigger deal than the one they came in looking for.
Four Sharks got together for 9 Strap. Kendra joined Kevin O’Leary, Daniel Lubetzky and Rashaun Williams, and the four offered $800,000 for 20% of the company. There was also a $2 royalty on each unit until the Sharks reached the agreed return amount. Ryan and Alyson accepted.
The $800,000 was coming from four Sharks, but they never gave a different cash amount for each person. So, we count one-fourth for Kendra, which gives her $200,000 from 9 Strap. The company later announced the investment itself and named all four Sharks as its backers. The royalty does not add anything to Kendra’s $200,000 because that was money the company would pay back as it sold products.
What Happened to Kendra Scott’s Shark Tank Companies?
Some of Kendra’s companies kept going with her, and some kept going without her. Sienna Sauce never got Kendra’s $100,000, but Tyla-Simone Crayton continued with the business anyway and eventually passed $1 million in lifetime sales. BootayBag had Kendra behind it for a while, but that company eventually disappeared. OpulenceMD Beauty was gone by 2023 too.
Create A Castle is still around, although what happened to Kendra’s $350,000 after filming is not as clear. Yardsale gives us a much easier answer because Kendra’s deal closed and she continued working with Kelly and Cristina. Kendra became an investor in Doublesoul too. And Alchemize Fightwear later named Kendra, Lori and Alexis as investors in the company.
Then there are the newer Season 17 companies where there has not been as much time to see what happens. Left Field gives us good evidence that Kendra really became an investor, while Cabana Boys Events was still working with her team to finalize its deal. Sleepy Baby, Crowd Compass and Glimmer Wish are still around, but their original investments are not as clear. 9 Strap has also continued and publicly named all four Sharks as backers of the company.
Where Is Kendra Scott Now?
Kendra is still part of the company she started all those years ago. She remains the majority shareholder, although she is not the one running everything day to day anymore. Chris Blakeslee has the CEO job now. Kendra stayed on as executive chairwoman and chief visionary officer.
There is something new happening with Shark Tank though. Kendra spent Seasons 12 through 17 coming and going as a guest and recurring Shark. Then ABC announced in July 2026 that she was getting a permanent seat for Season 18. She will now be there for many more entrepreneurs instead of only appearing in selected episodes.
And she is starting that full-time role after making eight deals in Season 17. That was the busiest Shark Tank season Kendra had ever had. The $2.72 million only takes us through the end of Season 17. And now that Kendra has a permanent seat, there could be a lot more deals coming in Season 18.
Final Words
Kendra came into Shark Tank knowing what it was like to start with very little money. Her own company began with $500, and she spent those early days taking jewelry around to stores herself. Years later, she was able to offer another entrepreneur $500,000 in a single Shark Tank deal. She actually did that twice, with BootayBag and Doublesoul.
There were much smaller deals along the way too. Sleepy Baby was only $70,000, and Kendra’s counted part of Crowd Compass was $75,000. 9 Strap was a much bigger deal, but Kendra had three other Sharks beside her for that one. The four of them agreed to put $800,000 into the company. And by then, Kendra had invested in all kinds of businesses. Socks, ski poles, beauty products, a baby product and even a dating app had all got her attention.
Season 17 also gave Kendra more deals than she had ever made before. Season 17 gave Kendra eight deals all by itself. Before that, she had only made six during all the seasons she had appeared on Shark Tank. And now Kendra is coming back with a permanent seat for Season 18. There is still plenty to see from the newer companies too.
