Metric Mate Net Worth Shark Tank Update 2025

Metric Mate asked for a $100,000 investment in exchange for 5% equity in the company. This meant they valued their company at $2 million. They did not make a deal with any of the sharks, and their valuation remained the same. After the show aired, Metric Mate saw some exposure but had limited success, with only 100+ app downloads on the Android App Store and a meager social media following. Given the lack of significant sales data and assuming a modest 5% yearly growth rate, the current net worth of Metric Mate is about $2.3 million.

After appearing on the show, the company did get some traction. However, the business has a meager following on all social media, only amassing up to 1500 followers on all social media. The website has the product available and there is not much information about the sales of the company.

Only the Android App Store shows 100+ downloads of the app. Apple store doesn’t reflect the number of downloads so not much can be said. As of yet, the company is still in business.

No, Metric Mate did not get a deal on the shark tank. Mark, Lori, Barbara, and Tony all bowed out and Kevin was the only shark who made an offer. Kevin asked for a 25% stake in the company for $100,000. MT made the counteroffer of $100,000 and $125,000 as a line of credit for 12.5% equity.

MT made another offer after Mark shared his advice with him that the offer they were getting was good, MT offered $200,000 for 20% equity. Kevin didn’t budge and didn’t agree to lower his offer. This caused Metric Mate to walk out of the shark tank without a deal. Keep reading our Metric Mate update to see what happens next!

Metric Mate Shark Tank pitch

The trio founded the company in 2017, and they have 8 degrees between them. One of the co-founders, Strickland, studied electrical engineering and used to work at Top Product Supply Chains Company. Braxton has a law degree and works full-time as the Associate General Counsel of Facebook.

He works at Metric Mate on a part-time basis and is a co-founder. Ecleamus has a software engineering degree and has worked in National Instruments in various positions for 7 years.

The Metric Mate team came to the Shark Tank asking for $100,000 for 5% equity in the company. One of the team members Braxton goes over to the workout machine and the remaining team members give a voice-over on what he is doing.

Ecleamus explains that Braxton is writing down his reps and trying to remember what he did yesterday. Not having the previous day’s paper with him and any data that can help him figure out what he did ruins his whole workout. Then he introduces Metric Mate.

Metric Mate is a smart device that can turn any of your gym equipment into smart equipment. With the help of the T.A.P. technology, the device can gather information about your rep correctly and act as a personal trainer. It seamlessly tracks your reps and sets; the app analyzes your workout and provides you with accurate metrics.

These metrics can be shared with personal trainers and on social media using the supporting apps. The supporting apps can be downloaded on Apple and Android phones and tablets.

MT asked the sharks since they have the Metric Mate technology setup who would like to experience it. Barbara offered up Mark and Mark went to perform a few reps. MT tells them that the device responds to tempo and full range of motion.

Ecleamus tells Mark that he can simply connect the device and once it connects, he simply has to follow the audio instructions. If the device notices that the rep is not being performed correctly it doesn’t count that rep, after that Mark completed his rep and went back to his seat.

Tony asked that along with the device that goes on the machine, there is an app also being developed, the device is used to collect the data, unlike any other device. Mark also added that it can really facilitate if the users are frequently traveling because it can provide all your data on the go.

Mark asked if the app is also available on the phone, Ecleamus told him that yes, the app is also available on the phone and it provides great accessibility by offering auditory assistance and can guide you through the workout by just using your earphones.

Tony asked if they did any testing to find out how accurate the product is, Ecleamus told him that most of the data they get is unique data because everything else is a variable. Other devices don’t provide output from the machine instead just record your biometrics. Their machine collects all the data and then along with the biometrics provides holistic metrics.

Mark asked what other devices was the app compatible with to gather biometric data, Ecleamus told them that they have the software that allows them to do that and their current focus is to work with personal trainers to provide an unparalleled service.

Kevin said why is a trainer required to be involved, why can’t users just get the product for themselves following the B2C business model. Ecleamus then told them their funding is low and they were mostly focused on personal trainers because they work with multiple clients.

Kevin countered that; this puts the consumer in the difficult position of always going with their trainer to the gym because the trainer has the device. Ecleamus told him that for now, that’s the business model but once they have the funding, they can proliferate the hardware and provide more.

Mark asked about the product’s margins, MT told them that it costs them $99 to produce 1000 units and they sell it for $199. MT also told them that they were now looking to expand and they had currently sold 5 devices and were going to ship out the rest of the 5 after the shoot.

Lori asked can the consumer directly buy from the website, MT told her that they now have pre-orders available, however, their biggest barrier for going to the end-consumer was the government certification. He told them that they have 5 government certifications, that cost between $150,000 to $200,000 which are preventing them from going to the end consumer. Hence currently their B2C model works better for them.

All the sharks liked the product and thought that it was good however to lack of consumer data about the product left them feeling unwilling to invest in the company.

Mark said that he thought that it was a great idea as a consumer product, however, the analytical side of the metrics was a tricky part to tackle and he was scared of the ability of the device to cope with it.

Lori said that she thought that the product needed to be simplified and made for the consumers only, when Ecleamus asked her to work with them and help them do that, Lori told him that she doesn’t work out that much.

Barbara went on the sales and told the team that the sales were too low and it was very early to gauge if the consumers would like it.

Tony also agreed with Barbara and said that they should try to get their products to the consumers, get their feedback, and improve the product accordingly.

What Went Wrong for Metric Mate in Shark Tank

Unfortunately, Metric Mate came into the Shark Tank without any sales and didn’t have any consumer data to back up claims about consumers liking the product. It was too early for the sharks to invest in the business. Not only that the business get tricky once it gets into the biometrics of the consumer data and analysis.

Product Availability

It is currently only available on two platforms: the company’s own website Metric Mate, and Amazon. The company doesn’t have much following and it’s not available anywhere else.

Conclusion

Unfortunately, Metric Mate came into the Shark Tank with high expectations and a good product. The sharks were impressed by the product however it was too early to invest in the business hence they all bowed out except Kevin O’Leary when he made an offer the company owners didn’t accept the offer and didn’t get a shark on board.

The device is very useful for measuring your reps and sets and can improve your gym experience by a lot. It can sync with the app on your phone and provide you with complete backup and data of your whole set and reps each day. Once it connects to your Apple watch it will also gather biometric data and provide you with even more accurate results.
